India’s Got Latent Controversy: Maharashtra Cyber Cell Summons Ranveer Allahbadia, Denies Samay Raina’s Virtual Request
The Maharashtra Cyber Cell is investigating a case registered against YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and others following the uproar triggered by his controversial remarks on India’s Got Latent. According to news agency ANI, Allahbadia, widely known for his BeerBiceps YouTube channel, has been summoned to appear before the agency on February 24.
Maharashtra Cyber Cell Denies Samay Raina’s Virtual Testimony Request
The controversy erupted after Allahbadia made crude remarks about parents and sex on stand-up comedian Samay Raina’s web show, India’s Got Latent. As the investigation progresses, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell has also denied Raina’s request to provide his statement via videoconferencing.
Raina, who is currently in the United States, had sought permission to record his statement virtually, citing his inability to return to India until next month. However, the authorities rejected his plea and directed him to appear in person by February 18.
Ranveer Allahbadia Speaks Out: “Receiving Death Threats”
Amid mounting backlash, Allahbadia issued another apology on Saturday, acknowledging his controversial remarks. However, he also expressed concern for his safety, revealing that he and his family have been receiving death threats.
